Kisa graduated with a Bachelor of Veterinary Science from the University of Qld in 2001 with First Class Honours. She found her passion for Emergency and Critical Care early on in her career working with Animal Emergency Services for 3 years before becoming one of the first VSS interns in 2005. Under the guidance of Terry King her passion for Critical Care grew and after 2 years as a VSS intern she started her Fellowship training program with VSS and Professor Steve Haskins. Kisa continued her ECC training in the United Kingdom where she attained her membership of the College in Emergency and Critical Care.
During her time in England Kisa helped to establish a 24 hour Veterinary Clinic and worked in various emergency roles and when she returned to Australia she began working at the Pet Intensive Care Unit at VSS Underwood. In 2012 Kisa took time off to raise her 2 daughters and continued working in first opinion veterinary practice. She returned to VSS Carrara in 2020 and currently works in our Jindalee and Gold Coast Pet Intensive Care Units caring for our critical patients and seeing emergency cases. Kisa is very passionate about patient care and comfort and educating the new generation of interns and nurses.
When she is not at work Kisa is a busy mum and enjoys spending time with her family on their farm in the Northern Rivers and going for the occasional paddle board with her 3 dogs.
