Dr Georgie Ryan

Georgie graduated from the University of Adelaide with a Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 2020. After working as a small animal GP in the Northern Rivers region of NSW, she decided to pursue her interest in emergency medicine and moved to Brisbane in 2022. Initially working for an emergency clinic, she was able to complete her Foundational Certificate in Emergency and Critical care. Wanting a break from shift work and to pursue travel ventures, Georgie transitioned back to GP work in 2024. However, she couldn’t stay away from emergency practice for long, and accepted a position at VSS as part of the emergency team at the end of 2024. She enjoys the challenges and case variety that comes with practicing emergency medicine, and also has an interest in treating any wildlife that present to the clinic. 

Outside of work Georgie enjoys being active and outdoors, particularly at the beach. She also loves to travel, and has been able to participate in veterinary volunteering in India and Malawi.
