Dr Evie Knight is the founder and managing director of Animal Dermatology Specialist. She is a double boarded registered specialist in veterinary dermatology, being both a Fellow of the Australian and New Zealand College of Veterinary Surgeons (ANZCVS) and a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Dermatology (ACVD).
Dr Knight studied veterinary science at the University of Melbourne, graduating in 2010. After moving to Queensland in 2011 for a rotating internship, she fell in love with the coastal lifestyle and never looked back. She began specialising in dermatology in 2012 and became a member of the ANZCVS in 2016, by examination in Small Animal Medicine. In 2017, she completed both the ANZCVS Fellowship and the ACVD Diplomate examinations to become a dual boarded registered specialist in veterinary dermatology.
Throughout her career she has published scientific peer reviewed journal articles, presented at conferences both within Australia and internationally, lectured at the University of Queensland, and mentored dermatology interns and residents.
“As a specialist in dermatology, my commitment is to educate clients and support general practitioner vets to provide best possible care for our patients. I’m deeply passionate about bringing comfort to patients grappling with chronic skin, ear, or nail problems, by determining the cause, instituting tailored treatments, and aiming to resolve conditions, rather than temporarily masking symptoms.”
